The real meaning of Christmas giving is when your gift costs nothing but brings huge joy. The French muaythai team did that this week when they visited a hospital for sick children, bringing the inspiration and hope of sport to children who desperately need that.
They visited the Hôpital Necker – Enfants Malades in Paris, a centre of care for the most ill children in France. Guided by Federation President Nadir Allouche, the team brought smiles and laughter towards where such joy is often in short supply.
Mr Allouche said: "This was a day simply filled with happiness, it was very special for me to see how the team could touch the hearts of these children. To me, that is what sport is about."
European champion Myriame Djedidi said: "This was a moment rich in emotion for me, I'm very happy to be able to share the day with these children. It was a great day for all of us. I'd like to thank the French Federation for making this possible."
European champion and WMC world champion Jimmy Vienot said: "To see the children smiling made me also feel happy, I'm so grateful to the staff at the Necker for the work they do with these children."
