Lithuania Gathers Old Rivals

Lithuania became one of the regular destinations for the European Muaythai teams and some athletes already have their personal rivalry history which started years ago in Lithuanian sports halls.

This year Muaythai will visit the Lithuanian capital, the city of Vilnius with finalists of the 2018 Kaunas Open confirming their participation. The brightest final of the Kaunas Muaythai Open is set to repeat with Nina Sheucher (AUS) and Patricia Axling (SWE) being on the list of their national team in 57 kg. Last year Patricia won gold medal leaving the fans anticipating a rematch which has the highest chances to happen this February.

The President of the Lithuanian Muaythai Federation Mr Edvardas Norkeliunas said that he is happy to see the growth of the event as Baltic Open 2019 sees its fifth edition and more and more world champions joining their teams to compete and be a role model for the young athletes.

This year Baltic Muaythai Open goes beyond just a sports event organising workshops and seminars on doping, media promotion with speakers from the national anti-doping agencies and IFMA Executive Board members.

In less than a month EMF will again go live from Lithuania showing Europe and the world and share the best moments of the competition.
