A relatively young muaythai federation of Moldova has truly achieved sensational results of the 2017 Youth World Championships in Bangkok winning 2 gold and 3 silver medals leaving behind such powerhouses of European muaythai like Belarus and Ukraine. Remarkable that both gold medals were won in a final bout against representative of Thailand.
The star of the event in Liviu Titica went through a tough bracket with strong athletes from Turkey, Uzbekistan, and in the final he won representative of Thailand Jadsadaphon Suitiprom
Igor Duca 10-11 years division went through three strong competitors from Lebanon, Australia, and again Moldova was stronger than Thailand in the final bout with Igor winning all three rounds.
Gheorghe Plesca, David Chiperi, Marius Covali showed amazing bouts going all the way to finals and missing little to win gold medals for their team.
At the EMF Antalya Cup Moldovan youth also won 4 gold medals which was a true statement that in a couple of years Europe will have another power in muaythai to compete for medals.
Liviu Titica and Igor Duca were awarded special prize in Moldova as the best youth athlete for their outstanding performance. The head coach of the Moldovan National team was given the best coach award.
EMF congratulates Moldovan Muaythai Federation on their achievement and all are looking forward to see Moldovan youth in a couple of years when they join the world’s elite.
