leg Guta is one of the most perspective Muaythai athletes in Ukraine when debuted in the elite division in the World Championships in Langkawi, Malaysia when he reached the stars getting into the finals of the most prestigious amateur Muaythai event in the world at the age of 17. It was a true sensation for Ukraine and IFMA. The draw had a very serious opponent for Oleg, a famous Phonkrathok Arnon from Thailand. And it was silver, and ocean of emotions and cheers from his teammates.
Oleg made his first steps in Muaythai after he had to choose between acting school and sporting career at the age of 8. And it was his coach and the IFMA International Referee Natalia Kogan who saw potential in a small boy inviting him for his first competition. This was a decisive moment in Oleg’s life.
There have been many tournaments, tough rivalries and hard trainings in between which resulted in the first great achievement – silver medal in the youth division at the World Championships 2012 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Still, Oleg’s aim was gold and already next year in Turkey he was the tallest on the podium winning the gold medal.
Oleg spent three years without competing at the World Championships recovering from an injury and it was Minsk when he came back to make his name sound loud again. Oleg made an amazing performance winning his opponents in the first round at both 1/8 and quarterfinal. And it was Dmitry Varats who couldn’t lose at his home World Championships. Oleg won bronze and today is preparing for qualification for the Cancun.
Today Oleg is two times European Champion winning gold in Poland in 2014 and becoming the stronger at the European Championships in Paris last year having very serious opponents in the draw.
Being only 20 years there Oleg has an impressive record and in 2018 he has a great chance to bring back more awards from all around the world.
