Turkish Championships was again a record-breaking Muaythai event with more than 1200 athletes (!) competing on 5(!) rings at the same time.
The winners of the Turkish Championships will compete with the best Turkish athletes of the EMF Antalya Cup last year to decide who will represent Turkey in the World Championships in Mexico. The runner-ups will represent Turkey in Prague at the European Championships.
Zubeyr Barin from Istanbul again became the best in his weight division 48 kg showing again his intention to represent Turkey in the IFMA international events. He won a gold medal at the European Muaythai Championships in Paris and will want to show his best in Mexico.
51 kg division belongs to SEYH SAMİL OMER CALHAN Seyh Samil Omer Calhan who is another representative of Istanbul Muaythai. Ismail Karakas will be waiting for him in March to clarify who is going to Mexico.
Sercan Koc from Kayseri was the strongest in 54 kg. Sercan will be one of the hopes of Turkey to either improve their result at the European Championships after winning bronze in Paris or get to the podium in Mexico.
57 kg Fatih Deger replaces Gafer Goc who represented Turkey in Paris and got bronze. This year Fatih booked his spot for Paris and will have an amazing chance to fight for the trip to Mexico.
63.5 Serdar Koc was better in the Turkish Championships than the last year’s European silver medalist Guzel Baris. Serdar already made his spot for the European Championships and will have a chance to get a better prize against the winner of the Antalya Cup 2017 Mahmut Alkayis.
World Games 2017 gold medalist in 81 kg division Ali Dogan will again shine in Europe, and he will need to take the last obstacle before he can book his trip to Cancun.
86 Serdar Eroglu who was the silver medalist in Paris in 91 kg. This year he will compete against Ilyas Ipek who was the best Turkish athlete at the EMF Antalya Cup and will represent Turkey in one of two biggest Muaythai events in 2018
91+ kg Erdogan Bugra won the gold medal at the Turkish World Championships and is the current bronze medalist at the European Championships in Paris.
In Women 67 kg division Bediha Tacyildiz was the strongest winning the championships and will make her debut at the big Muaythai events this year. The last step will be to decide which event she will represent Turkey in.
Merve Saglam having 18 athletes in 54 kg became the best and got on the highest step of the podium. It was an amazing performance from Merve side and either Prague or Cancun public will be able to enjoy her fights alive.
